Everyone at Everton Football Club is heartbroken by the news a male worker has died following an incident at the Everton Stadium site at Bramley-Moore Dock.
The thoughts and condolences of everyone connected with Everton are with his family, friends and colleagues at this unimaginably sad time.
Stadium Contractor Laing O’Rourke will cooperate with Merseyside Police and the Health and Safety Executive in their investigations.

It has been confirmed that MSP Sports Capital have provided over £100 million in loans to Everton Stadium Development Holding Company, abating concerns about ongoing funding of the new stadium construction.
MSP were rumoured to be in talks for part ownership of Everton, even to the extent of securing places on the Board of Directors, but these plans were opposed by Rights and Media Funding, due to existing clauses in their outstanding loans to the club.
This development can be seen as fulfilment of the filing made by MSP Sports Capital with the US Securities and Exchange Commission back in June. regarding the raising $160 million in funds for Everton FC. Funds were transferred to Everton's stadium subsidiary company in several tranches between May and August.
With rampant speculation in certain quarters about Everton's financial condition and an apparent cessation of funding by major shareholder Farhad Moshiri that had seen an extraordinary transfer window concluded with minimal outlay, there had been concerns voiced that Everton were heading toward administration.

Work has recommenced at Everton Stadium, with major changes taking place in the past two weeks. A highly-visual development is the installation of all concrete terracing in the lower tier of the north stand. With the upper tier installed at an earlier date, this means the north stand is now the first to be completed, ahead of imminent seat installations. The seat carrier system, which will eventually support 52,888 blue seats, is being bolted to the terracing in anticipation of this first splash of colour, while hand rails have begun to be installed on the adjacent steps. The lower stand terracing in the south stand has commenced, and will soon offer a full view of the raking, one-tier stand that will eventually house over 13,000 passionate Evertonians. Work continues to complete the steel roofing structures, with the west stand now complete and the east stand close behind. South stand roof coverings have commenced, while the highly visual milestone of rolling out the 170m-long top sheeting atop the north stand will commence next week. This procedure involves a container being hung by a crane at roof level, from which the standing seem sheeting is rolled across the length of the roof. Externally, the first granite flags for external hard landscaping have been delivered to site. Paving is expected to begin this week in the north east corner of the stadium site. Everton FC
