GERRARD SET FOR LIVERPOOL RETURN Steven Gerrard is set for a remarkable return to Liverpool, reports Simon Hughes of the Independent.
The former Reds captain left the club at the end of last season to join LA Galaxy, but Hughes says that new manager Jurgen Klopp has spoken with him on several occasions and is keen for the Anfield legend to come back to Merseyside. Hughes also claims that even though the German has thus far only thought of Gerrard training with the Reds until he returns to the States, there is a possibility that the 35-year-old could play for Liverpool again. He adds that Galaxy are not willing to allow Gerrard to leave the club on loan, and would want a transfer fee if he were to rejoin the Premier League side on a permanent deal as he has a year left on his contract with the MLS outfit. Before deciding whether or not to rejoin the Reds even in a training capacity, Gerrard – who still believes he can cut it in the Premier League – will seek advice from his friends and family, says Hughes. The midfielder arrives in London on Wednesday, and will meet Klopp face-to-face early next week after he attends Liverpool’s game against Crystal Palace at Anfield on Sunday. Gerrard’s final appearance for the Reds was in the 6-1 defeat by Stoke City on the final day of last season, but it seems he may not be finished at his boyhood club just yet.

You've only scored 3 in your last 5. Let's be realistic.

Do any players stay in the USA when they sign for a team?

You've only scored 3 in your last 5. Let's be realistic. But there's something about Liverpool's goal that's strangely attractive to our players, 12 visits to the back of it in the last 4 League games.
