Southampton are looking like it's no fluke that they're up near the top. Already 2 up against Fulham and one of the best defensive stats in Europe. You have to give it to their new boss as he is getting results.

You have to give it to their new boss as he is getting results. They just battered Fulham in that first half and it could have been more than 2. They are on a run but whether they can stay up near the top is anybody's guess. My guess is once their bubble gets burst it will be a big bang.

It's early. If they are still up there after Christmas then maybe they can go on to greater things but I think United will get into their stride soon, and Everton are right up there so one little slip and you can fall quickly.

They are playing some very attractive football under Ponchettino, but didn't they spend a lot also? Lovren looks a top player. I don't think they will trouble us over 38 games but we don't play them until mid December so with a little luck they will have burned out by then.
