Great stuff, Mark, and very well put! We love a good article here. I'm looking forward to your next one, especially after today's game against Leicester.

Just re-reading this after reading another markthablue piece....the Leicester one. What a contrast but all that was wrong at Goodison on Sunday is presaged in what Mark wrote here. It's a cliche but games are lost as much by what goes on between a player's ears as by what they do with their feet. Forget the individual performances, it's the collective sense of fear of the opposition that is making your Premiership season so fraught. How else can one explain the fact that against Young Boys you played without that fear yet against Leicester - who are little, if any, better than the Swiss and in dire straights to boot - the smell of fear was almost detectable through a TV screen. Something is telling your players that they're not good enough. Something or someone.
