I know they're friendlies, but it doesn't fill you with any optimism.

Sean Dyche has provided injury updates on a host of players who missed Saturday’s pre-season friendly at Salford City due to minor knocks.
In Everton’s second warm-up match of the summer, James Garner put the Blues ahead at the Peninsula Stadium with a 50th-minute free-kick, before a youthful XI were pegged back in the final half hour by a Salford side playing their sixth pre-season contest.
The Salford game came too soon for new signing Jesper Lindstrøm to feature, while fellow summer arrival Iliman Ndiaye, Idrissa Gana Gueye and James Tarkowski also missed out alongside the likes of Vitalii Mykolenko, Jarrad Branthwaite and Nathan Patterson.
Dyche was hopeful of getting more senior players back in the near future as Everton move on to Coventry City away on Tuesday night.
“We’re a way short of our main group, which we know, due to injuries and we still need support through the markets, which we’re looking to do,” Dyche told evertontv.
“Tarky’s coming through things at the moment, so that’s good. Gana, we had to be careful with, but he’s coming through things and Myko’s the same. Dele’s getting closer but has still a bit to go with his fitness.
“Ili is another knock, nothing too serious, so he should be back around it next week.
“Jarrad’s making steps forwards. He’s not ready yet. He won’t be back next week but should be after that.
“The main message is they are not serious injuries but at this stage of pre-season when they’ve done a lot of work we have to be careful, hence why we took the main group of players off here as they are getting fitter and stronger after a big week, which they have had.
“Jesper’s literally just got in the door. He is up and running, though, and he’s had a good spell of pre-season work. He feels pretty good so I think he’ll be up and running pretty quickly.”
Despite seeing the scoreline end up in Salford's favour, Dyche reiterated this stage of pre-season is all about building fitness before adding in more technical and tactical elements as the summer schedule progresses.
The Blues boss added: "I’ve done enough pre-seasons as a player and a manager to know that, at this stage, it’s more about getting the players through it fitness-wise. It’s getting as many players on as we can in the right slots to give them as many minutes as we can. We’re protecting them physically.
'The game planning will obviously tidy up as the games come over the next couple of weeks when we narrow it down with the tactical side and understanding and the team starts to shape to more what we think is appropriate. At these stage it’s about getting as many minutes without risking them and that’s also a fine balance after a big physical week for them."
