Everton Boss David Moyes Tops Schalke Managerial Wish-List
Scottish manager could be set for move to the Bundesliga.
Everton’s David Moyes could be set for a shock move to the Bundesliga according to The Daily Mail.
The Goodison Park boss’ contract with the club expires at the end of the season and Everton are concerned that the Scottish manager could be preparing to part ways with the club.
Moyes has been worryingly silent over a new deal and it is thought he has been waiting to see whether Everton qualify for Europe next season.
But there have rumours in recent months that Moyes feels he has taken the club as far as he can.
The Scottish manager has transformed the Merseyside club from Premier League strugglers into a team regularly competing for the European qualification spots.
That has been done under difficult financial circumstances and has not gone unnoticed by those within the game
with Moyes having been touted as potential successor to Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United.
Schalke now look set to try and capitalise on the uncertainty regarding the Everton manager’s future by tempting Moyes with the prospect of Champions League football.
The Bundesliga side were thought to be keen to appoint Eintracht Frankfurt’s Armin Veh until the coach signed a new contract with his club last week.
That has put Moyes in pole position to take charge with Schalke ready to give Moyes their backing in the transfer window.
Schalke have been managed by interim boss Jens Keller since December when they sacked former boss Huub Stevens.
