Gabby George has been called up to the England women's senior squad. The Everton defender - who has been a standout performer for Brian Sorensen's Blues this season - joins Club teammate Jess Park as the Lionesses travel to Spain for friendlies against Japan and Norway at the Pinatar Arena. George will join the 24-player England squad after Lauren Hemp and Jordan Nobbs withdrew due to injury. The 25-year-old Blues defender was last involved in Sarina Wiegman's squad in April as they travelled to face North Macedonia for a FIFA Women's World Cup qualifier. George's England debut came in 2018 during a 6-0 win over Kazakhstan, while Park remains uncapped at senior level for the European champions. England will be hoping to continue their 24-match unbeaten run when they face fellow World Cup finalists Japan on Friday 11 November (7pm GMT) before facing Norway on Tuesday 15 November (7pm GMT).
