Jonjoe Kenny is to complete a free transfer move to Hertha Berlin after he decided to leave Everton, according to the Times. The defender is well regarded in Germany following a successful loan spell at Schalke and will again make it his stomping ground. He was linked with a possible return to the Ruhr club, but is instead joining Hertha Berlin, who narrowly avoided relegation from the Bundesliga last term.

A little disappointed in this News, he was slowly getting better in his position, most liked by the fans, utility player and could adjust even though he got caught out at times. To say No to a 3 year contract from Everton takes Guts! I wish him Well at his New Club another player we improved and yet he leaves on a free to join H.Berlin At least he will get a signing on fee! Maybe even a first team spot with a team that just had a relegation battle very similar to Everton’s!. Onwards and Upwards for all concerned!

I too thought he did okay , but perhaps he wasn't guaranteed a 1st choice. But I agree good luck to the lad.

Jonjoe Kenny admits Hertha Berlin ‘made it clear’ how much they wanted him after signing for the German outfit.
The defender opted to reject a new Everton deal to join the Bundesliga club on a free transfer. Kenny told Hertha’s website: “The club made it clear how much they wanted me. I’m pleased to be here.
“I’m looking forward to playing for this club, seeing the fans and moving to this city.” Manager Fredi Bobic said:“Jonjoe is a player that will bring some fresh impetus and pace into our game.
“He’s gained experience in both the Premier League and the Bundesliga, plus he still has the potential to develop further aged just 25.
“We could sense how excited he was to join Hertha BSC during our discussions.”

I can't blame him for wanting to try and make it elsewhere if honest.
