All England senior men's games will be shown free to air up to the summer of 2024 after Channel 4 confirmed a deal to broadcast their UEFA Nations League campaign in addition to European Championship qualifiers and friendlies.
This winter's World Cup will be shown on BBC and ITV.
Channel 4's agreement will begin with a quartet of Nations League games, beginning with the trip to Hungary on June 4 followed by a visit to Germany three days later and home games against Italy and Hungary at Molineux on June 11 and 14. The group stage wraps up in September with games away to Italy and home to Germany.
The most recent Nations League campaign was shown by Sky Sports, with ITV broadcasting friendlies. Both had reportedly submitted their interest in this cycle of games but it marks a notable boost in Channel 4's attempts to wrestle into the sports market.
The channel has recently broadcast the British & Irish Lions tour to South Africa, England’s Test series in India, Ireland rugby union internationals and the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
Channel 4's chief executive Alex Mahon said: “As a life-long committed football fan I am personally so delighted that we have these matches on the channel which further reinforce our reputation as a top quality sport broadcaster having been named Sports Network of the Year at this year’s British Sports Journalism Awards.”
