Dominic Calvert-Lewin is set to spend up to two weeks on the sidelines. Calvert-Lewin was a notable absentee from Everton’s match day squad for their Premier League home encounter against Leicester City on Wednesday.
The England international suffered an issue in training ahead of the game with the Foxes which is now expected to rule him out for the next fortnight.
Frank Lampard confirmed ahead of facing Brendan Rodgers’ side that Calvert-Lewin will also miss this weekend’s 240th Merseyside derby with Liverpool.
He said: “Dominic felt a small sensation in his quad in training.
“We scanned it and it’s 10 days to two weeks, unfortunately, so we’ll miss him for these next couple of games, for sure. He’ll possibly be back for Chelsea.”
Calvert-Lewin’s season has been beset by injuries and missed four months of the campaign with an adductor problem following the Blues’ win at Brighton.

We'll do well to get anything at all from this game but it's crucial we don't concede a load of goals as goal difference might be what separates us from Burnley at the end of the season.

I fear this could be very messy. They will come at us in the first 20 mins. If we don't concede then , just maybe we may scrape a draw , but I think at least 3-0 to them.
