Deserved sacking for the team and tactics he put out for the Brighton game Why would he be given so much power only to get sacked?

Deserved sacking for the team and tactics he put out for the Brighton game I agree , but it is the majority of the same squad which has under performed in the past few seasons. The players have to take some responsibility on our free fall recently. Yesterday I felt our defenders hung him out to dry.

Everton Football Club can confirm the departure of Rafael Benitez as First Team manager. Benitez, who joined Everton in June 2021, has left the Club with immediate effect. An update on a permanent replacement will be made in due course. Everton FC I added the official announcement so I can link to it on our home page and social media etc, but have you noticed that they offered no sentiment to either Digne or Benitez leaving? No thank you for service and so on?

Former Everton medical chief Dan Donachie has appeared to have taken a swipe at Rafa Benitez after he was axed as manager.
Donachie was a popular figure and a stalwart at Goodison Park, working at the club between 2001-2014 and then returning in 2018.
However, he left his role as director of medical services in November.
It was reported by The Athletic that Benitez was unhappy with the Toffees' injury record and recurrence rate.
The previous month, the Spaniard had appointed Cristian Fernandez as a fitness rehabilitation coach - who he worked with at Newcastle United - and had also ordered an internal review of the club’s injury record for key players.
Now Donachie - who is the son of former Everton assistant manager Willie Donachie - has posted a message on Twitter that is seemingly aimed at Benitez.
He wrote: “How people treat you is their karma. How you react is yours. Wayne Dyer.”
After leaving Everton, Donachie posted a heartfelt message to supporters and those who he’d worked alongside.
He wrote on Twitter: “Too many life long friends to mention. You know who you are.
“I have been inspired by all of you time after time. My spirit will never be the same.
“What an incredible privilege to have been a custodian of this great club for so long. Separated by distance but never heart.”

Everton have offered Belgium boss Roberto Martinez the chance to replace Rafa Benitez on an interim basis, according to The Athletic journalist David Ornstein.
The Athletic journalist Ornstein claims that the Merseysiders ‘want Roberto Martinez to replace Rafa Benitez and have offered the Belgium manager the job’.
The Premier League club’s ‘preference would be for their former manager to return to the club on an interim basis’ while Martinez would be keen to bring Arsenal legend and current Belgium assistant Thierry Henry with him as his assistant.
Martinez is ‘in conversation’ with the Belgium FA as he hopes to help Everton until the end of the season but they ‘would prefer he rejects the approach’.
Belgium want the Spaniard’s ‘sole focus to be on their 2022 World Cup campaign this winter’ and ‘an agreement is therefore thought to be some way off at this stage’.
Martinez, who spent three seasons as manager at Goodison Park last decade, isn’t the only manager on Everton’s list with Rooney ‘also under consideration’.
