Everton defender Niels Nkounkou has been recalled from his loan at Cardiff City and joined French side Saint-Etienne for the remainder of the season.
The 22-year-old left-back moved to the Bluebirds in August 2022 and played 18 matches in the Championship.
Nkounkou, who joined Everton in July 2020 after the expiry of his contract at Marseille, will now play on loan with Saint-Etienne in Ligue 2 for the second half of the 2022/23 campaign.
The Frenchman has made seven senior appearances for the Blues.

Is he any worse than the 2 we have in the squad? I don't know what he's like at defending but he is better going forward from what I've seen.

Niels Nkounkou has joined St Etienne on a permanent basis from Everton.
The French club have completed the transfer after triggering the clause they placed in the agreement to take the defender on loan back in January. They confirmed the news on Thursday evening.
