Everton players are still reeling from the sudden departure of iconic coach Carlo Ancelotti this week, with star duo James Rodriguez and Richarlison now considering their futures at the club. Earlier in the week Ancelotti was contacted by Real Madrid and left Merseyside within 48 hours after making it clear he wanted to return to the Spanish capital. Everton players collectively have been left surprised and dismayed as a result, after holding the belief that Ancelotti was committed to the club for the long haul. Now a number of stars are considering their futures, with the likes of Richarlison and James 'particularly disillusioned as a result,' according to the Athletic. Many players made their feelings known with a small gesture of unfollowing the Italian boss on social media. Ancelotti is one of the few managers in the world with a regular online presence, but in the hours following his stunning exit only James and Richarlison continued to follow his accounts online. James particularly enjoyed a sublime start to life in the Premier League under Ancelotti, despite the latter part of his season tailing off due to mounting injury concerns. It was Ancelotti who had personally convinced the Colombian to sign for the Merseyside club, after working successfully with him at both Real and Bayern Munich previously. Everton had been preparing for a big summer under Ancelotti, with club chief Farad Moshiri having previously outlined a long-term project under the Italian. Ancelotti was intended to build a new era at Everton and be given the time, patience and funds to do so. He was expected to be the manager to lead the club into their elite new stadium, which is due to begin construction on Liverpool's Bramley Moore Dock site. Now, the Toffees are left frantically searching for a new manager when the original plan was to spend the summer identifying the players Ancelotti needed to improve on an underwhelming 10th placed finish. www.dailymail.co.uk/sport

I think the majority of accounts are managed by companies, so I don't get the follow thing from the papers.
James is a good player, but a bit fragile, but if he wants to stay, great, if not, hey ho. Losing Richy causes another headache.

Duncan Ferguson is ready to snub a move to Real Madrid, with his eyes on replacing Carlo Ancelotti as Everton boss. The Toffees legend, who served as the Italian’s assistant at Goodison Park, was offered the chance to join the Real coaching staff. However, Ferguson believes he is ready to make the step up to manager after impressing as caretaker boss in 2019. Following Marco Silva’s dismissal, the Scot was handed the reins on a temporary basis, picking up five points from three games. And he now fancies a crack at the job on a permanent basis as Everton continue to look for their new head coach.
