Will the six teams who wanted to join the ESL face any sanctions? They were conspiring to undermine both the Premier League and UEFA and they should be punished accordingly like every other team who have broken the rules!

Will the six teams who wanted to join the ESL face any sanctions? They were conspiring to undermine both the Premier League and UEFA and they should be punished accordingly like every other team who have broken the rules! Not sure what will happen, if anything. We don't even know for a fact that they've all officially left, even if they say they have, as it seems there are contracts involved. Punishment wise, I think they need to focus on the owners involved rather than the clubs. Lots of fans are talking about wanting them docked points, relegated etc, but I don't see the point of that personally, especially as we've seen the reaction from fans of all concerned, and they were very much against the idea, which shows great loyalty to our league, and other clubs. However, our game needs to protect itself with some new contracts I think.

We were banned for five years when those shitbags killed 39 Juve fans! I went to Rotterdam with 17,000 other Blues and we were commended by the Dutch police. We were deprived of watching our team play in the European Cup and our team broke up! I want all of those teams punished! I want Liverpool fans to know what it feels like! We did nothing wrong! They have been conspiring behind the scenes so I want a punishment that will discourage them from ever doing it again! Fining billionaire owners will do nothing!

I doubt if anything more than a slap on the wrist will happen. The whole identity of football is tarnished and it is all about money and greed. The owners of clubs today are money men and have no real passion for the game. Football died when Sky etc. took over. Listening to pundits and commentators , there was no football pre 1992

The Premier League clubs originally involved in plans to form a breakaway European Super League received confirmation of their punishment on Wednesday, with all six being handed a combined fine of around £20m having reached a settlement with the governing body. Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur joined six other European sides in attempting to withdraw from UEFA competition and create their own alternative tournament in April 2021, but their plans were quickly quashed by mass fan protests And with nine of the 12, including all six Premier League sides, apologising and backing down from the plans, the ESL remains dead in the water. But the clubs involved still face punishments for their actions from their domestic governing bodies, and the English sides have now learnt their fate.
Sky News report that the half-dozen English clubs have reached a settlement with the Premier League, where they have accepted a combined fine of £20m to draw a line under the issue and move forward.
They have also agreed to accept a £20m fine each if they attempt to pull off a similar coup in the future, as well as suffering a 30-point deduction in the Premier League for their misbehaviour.
