Everton will play Salford City for the first time in a competitive fixture, on Wed 16th Sep 2020 - 8:15pm, after being drawn at home to the League Two club in the second round of the Carabao Cup. The Blues will face Graham Alexander's side behind closed doors at Goodison Park on the week commencing 14 September, with the date and kick-off time for the tie to be confirmed in due course. Salford City are part-owned by former Everton captain Phil Neville, along with his brother Gary and ex-Manchester United teammates David Beckham, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt. The club were promoted to the Football League for the first time in their history in May 2019 and finished 11th in League Two last season.
