Carlo Ancelotti says Yerry Mina is a doubt for Saturday’s match at West Ham United after sustaining a knock in training, while Alex Iwobi will not be available but is set to return to full training next week.
The Italian added Andre Gomes’ return to USM Finch Farm this week is “really important” as he steps up his rehabilitation from ankle surgery, and also provided an update on Jean-Philippe Gbamin’s fitness.
Everton take on West Ham on Saturday aiming to achieve a fourth win in five Premier League matches since Ancelotti’s appointment.
The Blues beat Brighton & Hove Albion 1-0 last time out and Ancelotti revealed how Mina is Everton’s only new injury concern since that contest.
“We have a little problem with Yerry Mina this week, he was not able to train,” he told evertontv.
“We have to see in the next few days if he will be available against West Ham.
“Alex Iwobi will not be ready for the match. I think next week he will be able to train with us.”
Gomes was back on Merseyside this week after a spell recovering in his native Portugal.

Ancelotti said the 26-year-old’s return to Everton’s training complex is a significant boost.
"It is really important for us to have him back,” said the Blues manager. “It takes time to recover completely but the fact he feels good in this moment and has no pain, he’s started to work individually, is important for us.
“As soon as possible we need this kind of player, with his kind of characteristics.
“Everyone knows how important he is for the team.”
Gomes’ fellow midfielder Gbamin has been sidelined since August after suffering a quadriceps injury. The 24-year-old Ivory Coast international has also undergone surgery and Ancelotti says he is making good progress in his recovery.
“He is doing individual sessions, he is starting to train,” Ancelotti said.
“We have to take care of him because the injury was not so easy to recover.
“We have to be patient with him. He is doing individual sessions and this is important.
“I hope that soon he can train with the team.
“We are looking day by day, how he is improving.
“He is improving fast, but the problem was a big problem, so we have to be careful with him.”

Michael Keane insists Everton are “looking up and not behind us” as the Blues aim to build on their impressive top-flight form under manager Carlo Ancelotti and climb the Premier League table.
Everton face West Ham United at London Stadium on Saturday (3pm) targeting a fourth league win in five matches since the Italian’s appointment.
A victory would move the 11th-placed Toffees into the top half of the table and Keane revealed his confidence the team will continue to improve as manager Ancelotti further implements his tactical ideas and methods.
After a congested festive fixture schedule which saw Everton play five matches in 15 days, Keane explained how the players are benefitting from valuable time on the training pitch with the former Real Madrid and AC Milan manager.
“It was a busy period and there was not much training going on,” Keane told evertonfc.com.
“When a new manager comes in, it is hard for them to get their tactics across in that short space of time between games.
“We are through that period now and it’s good to have that training time.
“We should be looking up instead of behind us and trying to climb the table as quickly as possible.
“We have some winnable fixtures coming up, but no games are easy in the Premier League.
“We have to fully focus on every match and treat every one the same. We will do that and hopefully get some good results.”
Richarlison hit his 10th goal of the season as Everton beat Brighton & Hove Albion 1-0 at Goodison Park last time out.
His expertly-executed first-half effort took the Brazilian level with Dominic Calvert-Lewin as the Blues’ top goalscorer.
As well as praising the in-form strike duo’s attacking quality, Keane highlighted the pair’s effective link play and tireless running for the team.
“At this stage of the season to have those two on 10 goals is great,” Keane said.
“I think they work really well together.
“They work hard for the team. They are a nightmare to play against – I would not like to play against them.
“We are thankful we have them both and hopefully they can get more.”

Carlo Ancelotti has revealed Richarlison will miss Saturday's clash at West Ham United (3pm) after sustaining a minor knee injury.
The manager said he is hopeful the Brazilian will be fit for Tuesday's home match against Newcastle United.
Gylfi Sigurdsson has suffered a groin problem and will also miss the West Ham game but Yerry Mina is available for the contest at London Stadium after recovering from a knock.
Ancelotti added Jean-Philippe Gbamin has started training with the team as he steps up his rehabilitation from thigh surgery.
"We will be without Richarlison for this game," said Ancelotti, who was speaking at his pre-match press conference at USM Finch Farm.
"He had a little problem yesterday on his knee [Thursday] in training. He had a little twist but nothing special – a minor problem.
"I hope he will be available on Tuesday against Newcastle.
"We will be without Gylfi Sigurdsson [for West Ham]. He has a minor groin issue.
"We are also recovering Alex Iwobi and I think he can play the next game [against Newcastle]."
Ivory Coast international Gbamin has not featured for Everton since August having suffered a quadriceps injury, but Ancelotti explained the 24-year-old has made a significant step in his recovery.
"He started today [Friday] the first part of training with the team," he said.
"We have to take care of him. The fact is the injury he suffered was big.
"He is not ready yet but the fact he started training today is important for him. We have to wait a little bit."
Andre Gomes returned to USM Finch Farm this week after a spell recuperating in Portugal having undergone ankle surgery.
"Andre Gomes is doing his individual training with the physio," Ancelotti added.
"He feels good. It is important to have him here and I hope as soon as possible he can play for us."
