Huddersfield Town have been linked with an interest in signing young Everton defender Lewis Gibson on loan.
Reports from the Liverpool ECHO suggest that the Toffees are keen to let the 20-year-old centre-back depart Goodison Park this summer on another loan exit after briefly leaving on loan last term, with Town reportedly showing a strong interest in Gibson.
Gibson had a brief stint on loan at League One side Fleetwood Town earlier this year but made just 11 appearances with Joey Barton’s side’s season curtailed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Carlos Corberan is said to have been impressed by what he saw of Gibson last season during as brief spell at Highbury.
In that time, Gibson was unbeaten in 10 of his 11 appearances helping his then loan club to keep four clean sheets in League One and reach the play-offs during his time there.
