There are many players who have either failed big-time this season,
or was clear enough they needed to find alternative employers a while back.
The rumour that
Jack Grealish could be looking for a move to
Everton originally concerned me
in that his exit fee could surely be better invested elsewhere.
However,
IF Aston Villa are relegated,
the prospect of the Brummies considering
Sigurdsson,
Schneiderlin or some of our other midfielders
as a part-exchange for
Grealish suddenly becomes a very interesting bargaining deal for us to play.
What we must be careful of
is not only getting as best a deal for ourselves,
but
NOT to be seen as a club that rips other owners off again -
we must rid our 'Selling Club' tag
if
Barca-for-
Richarlison episodes are to remain kept under wraps.
(In other words, becoming a buying club means
occasionally we buy players that don't work out,
but that we not only have ambition, but forward-thinking.)
It's looking to be a very interesting off-season window though. Hoping for the best!
