Brighton striker Glenn Murray and his wife have been arrested on suspicion of tax fraud totalling approximately £1.1million. Officers from HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) visited Murray and his wife, Stacey, at their £1.1million home in Brighton on Tuesday morning. An HMRC spokesperson said: "The couple were interviewed by HMRC and have both been released under investigation. "A husband and wife have been arrested as part of an HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) investigation into a suspected £1.1 million tax fraud." The ongoing investigation is related to suspected tax evasion, VAT and cheating the public revenue. Computers, business and personal records were seized during HMRC's search of the house. The couple married in June 2014 and have a young daughter together. Murray, 34, joined Brighton from Bournemouth for a second spell in a £3million deal in January 2017.
