rosscrombie What do you think about the way Koeman keeps playing around with the defence?

Great write up rosscrombie . We certainly don't have the players currently to be a successful 3 at the back side. I hope we show more impetus on Thursday. Leave my back side out of it....

rosscrombie What do you think about the way Koeman keeps playing around with the defence? It's a bit odd, but probably reflects the reality he hasn't got the personnel he wants. I thought Keane and Williams was going to be first choice, but I think Williams has looked shaky, and interesting that he was subbed on Saturday rather than Jags, who I thought defended very well second half (but has to stop thinking he's a ball-playing centre half). So I think first choice back 4 should be Baines, Keane, Jags, Holgate. I think he'll rotate a bit at RB until he sees what they're capable of: Holgate should be the man in the possession of the shirt, but he sometimes gets caught under a ball, and doesn't attack it either in the box; Kenny is an unknown quantity at this level, so unless he gets his chance in Cups to prove his worth, it looks like a season of patience/U23s/bench for him; and Cuco has done ok last 2 games, but did look shaky pre season I thought, but then he hardly played at Southampton last season remember.

I think Koeman should play it safe for the next 3-4 weeks and go with a standard 4 at the back. Jagielka is a player prone to big costly mistakes. All my confidence has gone i our 2 ageing defenders. I'd even consider playing Keane and Besic.
