On the fence tonight, and on the bird table in the garden, there are 3 Walnut Orb spiders strutting their stuff. First is as close as I could get to the female on the fence - this was at 2:1 on the Venus 60mm lens, using a torch to illuminate the subject due to being so close, with a ringflash doing the rest. She is then shown further back. Then the other two are a male and a female on the bird table - perhaps these two may one day make lots of baby orbs... Enjoys the fangs on Number 1... Paul.

Wow, I do like the wildlife stuff.
I'm intrigued and nervous of spiders at the same time, and only recently came to discover that many of the UK spiders can actually give very painful bites should they feel inclined.

How big is that in real life?

The first one is the largest about the size of a 2p coin from leg-tip to leg-tip.
The other two are a bit smaller.
