Everton's long-term injury absentee Yannick Bolasie has told the club's official website that he is happy where he is at in terms of his recovery.
The 28-year-old is to be assessed this week according to the website, as he nears a year on the sidelines after suffering the knee problem last December against Manchester United at Goodison Park.
The former Crystal Palace ace has reiterated his desire to come back stronger than ever before, and help his Everton teammates who continue to struggle on the pitch under interim boss David Unsworth. Bolasie declared that he is "getting there" in terms of his recovery but failed to give a definitive date on when he will officially return to the first-team set-up.
“I tend to distance myself [when I’m injured] but now that I am getting there, I am starting to watch and go to games again and I feel like I am close, and that is the main thing,” said Bolasie.
“At the end of last season it was hard because I was far away, so seeing a game and thinking I wanted to be out there… it was tough. The whole package has come together, so I’m buzzing, really, and happy with where I am at.
“I want to come back feeling refreshed and hungry.”

Everton winger Yannick Bolasie has stated that he does not know when he will be able to return to first-team action, having been sidelined with injury for almost a year.
The Democratic Republic of Congo international damaged his cruciate knee ligaments in a 1-1 draw with Manchester United last December, just four months after completing his £25 million move to Goodison Park from Crystal Palace Bolasie made 13 Premier League appearances for Everton prior to suffering his knee injury, in which the wideman managed to rack up four assists and find the back of the net once.
As he works his way back to full fitness, the 28-year-old is determined to return to the first-team fold in top condition, despite not being sure just when that might be.
“I haven’t set a date yet for that return. I can’t really say right now,” the Everton man told Sky Sports.
“I’m back in on Monday at Everton. I’m probably going to be integrated with the team then, but comeback I don’t know. I want to make sure I’m feeling good.
“It’s not just my name on my shirt on the pitch; I want to make sure it’s me.”
Bolasie was brought to Goodison Park by then-manager Ronald Koeman, who has since been sacked by the Everton board after a hugely disappointing start to the season that left the Toffees in the bottom three at the time of the Dutchman’s departure.
Currently being led by interim boss David Unsworth, Everton are expected to announce a new permanent manager within the next few weeks, with Sam Allardyce thought to be the current front-runner for the vacancy.
Bolasie will play the role of interested spectator for the Toffees’ next league fixture, on November 18th, when they travel to Selhurst Park to take on his former employers Crystal Palace, who are currently rooted to the bottom of the table, with just four points to their name.

Hope we see the best of him. Just hope he doesn't come back too soon. Was he good when he played? I can't remember much about him if I'm truthful.
