Kennedy and Pennington back with the Blues. Loan Pair Return From Tranmere
Matthew Pennington and Matthew Kennedy have both been recalled from their loan spells at Tranmere Rovers. The pair joined the League One side on initial 28-day deals in January, agreements which were later extended by a further month. Both have now returned to Finch Farm where they have rejoined Alan Stubbs’ Under-21s squad in time to travel to Norwich for Tuesday evening's fixture. Centre-half Pennington scored one goal in nine appearances, while winger Kennedy was involved in eight games. Tranmere assistant boss John McMahon said: "Kennedy and Pennington have been recalled to strengthen their development squad. "It is a blow because they're two very good lads and two very good players. "The two kids who have been fantastic around the place, it's a credit to the way they've been brought up. "And a big thank you to Roberto [Martinez] for allowing them to come out to us."
