Ronald Koeman has confirmed new signings Morgan Schneiderlin and Ademola Lookman are in contention for selection for Sunday’s Premier League clash with Manchester City. Lookman was cup tied for last weekend’s FA Cup tie with Leicester City but will be eligible for the first time this weekend after completing his switch from Charlton Athletic. Schneiderlin, meanwhile, trained with his new teammates at USM Finch Farm for the first time on Friday. When asked about the pair’s availability at his pre-match press conference, Koeman said: “Morgan’s fitness is okay. He’s not had a lot of game-time but to improve that you need to play and you need minutes. We will make a decision tomorrow, but he’ll be involved in the squad on Sunday. “Ademola also has a chance to be involved.” Meanwhile, Maarten Stekelenburg and James McCarthy, who have been sidelined with a dead leg and hamstring injuries respectively, have also joined full training this week, while Aaron Lennon has overcome a knock to be in contention for the visit of Pep Guardiola’s side. “Maarten and James are both fit,” added Koeman. “They have been training all week with the whole team - but it’s always a question for the manager whether or not they are match fit to start. That is sometimes a difficult decision but we will make it tomorrow. “Aaron Lennon had a knock that kept him out of last weekend’s game but he started training again with us this week and he’s available.”

'We're Tough To Beat At Home'Koeman wants Blues to continue making Goodison a difficult place to come.Ronald Koeman is looking for Everton to continue making it difficult for opponents to come to Goodison Park ahead of the visit of Manchester City on Sunday. The Toffees have been beaten only once in the league on home soil this season and Koeman is confident his side can compete against title-chasing City as they look to bounce back from FA Cup disappointment last week. Speaking in his pre-match press conference, the Blues boss said he wanted to see an aggressive performance from his players against Pep Guardiola’s charges. “We try to do everything to get a high position in the table,” he said. “We know it is not easy to beat the big teams but we are ready. We had a big disappointment last week but we have lost only one game at home and that was in the last minute in the derby. “Everybody knows it is difficult to beat Everton at home. “After the Leicester defeat, it is best to have another opportunity soon after. We know we need to be very good. We still have in our minds the game away against Manchester City, and they had a great performance last week against West Ham. “But if we go face-to-face on Sunday and we play with that aggression and with our pressing, then we can make it very difficult for them.” Koeman was also asked about his memories of Graham Taylor, who passed away on Thursday. Taylor was the England manager when Holland beat them 2-0 to clinch the final qualification spot ahead of the 1994 World Cup, with Koeman on target in that match. “I didn’t know him well but I know the story about his life, and of course what happened that day in Holland in that qualification game against England,” he added. “He was unlucky at that time. “It is sad news for everyone. He was only 72 and that is too young. I have read all of the great comments about him as a man and as a manager.”
