Basingstoke-born Cleverley started his youth career at Bradford City before moving to Man Utd in 2000 as an 11-year-old.

He came through the ranks at United, before enjoying loan spells at Leicester, Watford and Wigan.

Cleverley returned to Manchester United in 2011 and made his competitive debut for the club in the Community Shield victory against Manchester City in August.

He endured several injuries but played a further 14 times in his first season with the team as they lost out to their city rivals on goal difference for the title.

In 2012-13 he played 22 Premier League matches for United, as well as five times in the Champions League and five more in domestic cups, proving a key figure for United as they won the Premier League title in Sir Alex Ferguson's last season at the club.

The following campaign he played 22 Premier League games, four in the Champions League and four in domestic cups.

During his time with the first team, he has won a Premier League trophy and two Community Shields.

Cleverley joined Villa on loan from Man Utd in September 2014.

Cleverley has played 13 times for England, making his debut in England's first match after Euro 2012, against Italy at the Stade de Suisse in Bern.

He also played five times for Great Britain during the 2012 Olympic Games.

Everton signed Tom Cleverley in June 2015 after his contract at Manchester United expired.

In doing so, he was reunited with Roberto Martinez, the Everton boss having had Cleverley on loan at Wigan Athletic during the 2010/11 season.

Contracted until: June 2020.

On 12 January 2017, Cleverley signed for Watford on loan until the end of the 2016/2017 season.

Tom's loan move was made permanent and he left Everton officially on 1st July 2017.
