At Everton between 2020-2022
Rhys Hughes signed his first pro deal with Everton on 4th January 2020.
Midfielder Hughes has made rapid progress since penning scholarship forms in summer 2018 and regularly captained Paul Tait’s Under-18 team this season.
“It is a really proud moment for me and my family and I am really excited for the future,” said Hughes. “I owe so much to my family. They have been on the journey with me and everything I achieve I owe to them.
“I know Anthony Gordon well and have played with him quite a bit, so some of the players involved with the first team are relatable.
“I see all those players on the board. I know a few of them and can talk to them.
“Everton is the right club to be at – it is one of the best clubs in England for developing young players – and hopefully where I can keep improving and make the next step.”
On 21st June 2022, Rhys left Everton to sign a 2 year contract with Tranmere Rovers.
