At Everton between 2015 - 2018

Ramiro Funes Mori moved to Goodison Park in August 2015, joining Everton from Argentine giants River Plate on a five-year contract.

The Blues agreed a £9.5 million fee to secure the left-footed central-back, who had helped his former club win the Copa Libertadores - the South American equivalent of Europe’s UEFA Champions League - less than a month before arriving in England.

Funes Mori made a total of 108 club appearances for River Plate, scoring a healthy return of 10 goals in that period.

The last year has also seen the defender make strides on the senior international scene. He debuted in March 2015, helping Argentina keep a clean sheet in their 2-0 win over El Salvador.

Funes Mori is the second Argentinian player to represent Everton, following in the footsteps trod by forward Denis Stracqualursi who spent the 2011/12 season on loan with the Blues.

On 21st June Everton announced that Ramiro had penned a four-year deal to June 2022 with Spanish club Villareal.

Good luck from all at Love Everton.
