At Everton between 2017 to 2023
Everton completed the signing of highly-rated 17-year-old defender Lewis Gibson from Premier League rivals Newcastle United in July 2017.
The defender penned a three-year contract with the Blues and linked up with David Unsworth’s Under-23s squad.
A product of Newcastle’s Academy, Gibson was a regular starter in the north east club’s Under-18s side and, after impressing, he was promoted to their reserve team.
His form for the Magpies earned him a call-up to England’s Under-17s side for the 2017 European Championships in which he was an ever-present as the Young Lions were beaten on penalties in the final by Spain.
In 2018-19 the under 23 team went on to win both the Premier League 2 league title and the Premier League Cup.
On 31st January 2020, penned a two-and-a-half-year deal and immediately joined League One side Fleetwood Town on loan for the remainder of the 2019-20 campaign.
On 22nd September 2020, Everton announced Lewis had joined Reading FC on loan for the 2020-21 season.
On Saturday 7th August 2021, Everton announced that Gibson had joined Sheffield Wednesday on loan for 2021-22 season.
On 12th August 2022, Lewis joined Bristol City on loan for the 2022-2023 seasn.
Lewis left Everton at the end of the 2022-2023 season, taking up a contract with Plymouth Argyle.
