In 2016, Joe Anderson joined Everton at the age of 15.

Having previously played as a left-sided midfielder and left-back, Anderson moved to centre-half while playing for Everton Under-18s during the 2018/19 campaign.

He excelled in that position, helping Paul Tait's team achieve a third-place finish in the U18 Premier League (North) and reach the quarter-finals of the FA Youth Cup.

Joe says he is aiming to make a successful transition into the Everton Under-23 side in the coming campaign.

“To sign a professional deal for such a big club, you can’t ask for any more,” Anderson told evertonfc.com. “It was what I’ve dreamed of as a kid.

“My game has come on a lot since I joined Everton. At every level you are challenged, there is healthy competition for places and it improves you, because every player is giving it everything.

“Now I want to have a solid pre-season and, when I get a chance to play, to show what I can do. I want to pick up where I left off last season.”

The defender saw his development rewarded as he signed a first professional contract at Everton in summer 2019, penning a two-year deal until the end of June 2021.

At the end of the 2020-21 season, Joe extended his contract with the club.

On 19th June 2021, Everton announced that Joe had signed a new 1 year deal with the club. On 7th July 2022, his deal was extended, committing to the club for a further 2 years.
