At Everton from academy until 2022


Born a short walk away from Goodison Park, Jonjoe Kenny joined Everton’s Academy at the age of nine.

His versatility and composure on the ball has seen him deployed at right-back, centre-back and in central midfield in progressing from the Club’s Under-18s to the Under-21s in 2013/14.

Having represented England at youth level, he recovered from a broken collarbone just in time to make the Under-17s squad for the 2014 European Championship Finals.

Kenny lifted the trophy aloft alongside captain and fellow Blue Ryan Ledson after netting the shootout-winning penalty in the final against Holland.

He subsequently signed a three-year professional contract at Everton in July 2014.

In December 2014, Kenny was named on the bench for Everton's first-team game against FC Krasnodar.

Kenny, a Euro Under-17 Championship winner with England, was the Everton Under-21s’ captain last term and spent time on loan at Wigan Athletic earlier in the 2015-16 season.

He then spent time on loan at Oxford United in February 2016.

On 29th September 2016, Jonjoe signed a new 3 year deal with Everton.

On Sunday 11th Jone 2017, Jonjoe won the u20 World Cup beating Venezuala 1-0 in the final.

Jonjoe signed a new deal with Everton on 14th December keeping him at the club until 2022.

On 10th June 2019, Everton announced that Jonjoe would join German team Schalke 04 on loan until the end of the 2019-20 campaign.

On 1st February 2021, Jonjoe joined Celtic on loan for the remainder of the 2020-21 campaign.

On 10th June 2022, Everton announced that Jonjoe would be leaving the club - Good luck from all at Love Everton Forum.
