Jon Woods - Former Director

Jon Woods joined the board in 2000 but his family's involvement stretches back to 1892 when one of his ancestors loaned the fledgling Everton £1000 to build the original Goodison Road stand.

He has supported Everton since boyhood travelling the world to cheer on 'the Blues.'

A shrewd man of business, Mr Woods founded the computer-entertainment firm, Ocean Software, which became a global success.

Jon was brought up in his native Liverpool where he established a string of businesses ranging from retail to leisure.

He went on to found computer games company Ocean which attracted global interest leading to a sale in mid-1980s.

Ocean's games were regarded as key in the success of major gaming platforms such as Nintendo.

Continued success in business allowed Mr Woods to invest in his first love, Everton.

Since he joined the board, his astute stewardship and relationship with his fellow directors has seen the club qualify regularly for European competitions.

Jon continues to live just 40 minutes from Goodison Park, the stadium which his ancestor helped make a reality.

On 15th May 2018, Everton announced that Jon would step down from his role as Deputy Chairman, but stay on the Board Of Directors. Dr Keith Harris would replace him in the Deputy Chairman's role.

On 26th July 2019, Everton announced that Jon had left his role as Everton Director.
