At Everton between 2013 - 2014 & 2015 - 2017

Gerard Deulofeu Lázaro joined Everton on a season-long loan from Barcelona on 10 July 2013.

The highly-rated winger became Roberto Martinez's fourth summer signing following the arrivals of Arouna Kone, Antolin Alcaraz and Joel Robles.

Born in the heart of Catalonia, Spain, Deulofeu joined Barcelona's academy at the age of nine in 2003.

After progressing through the youth sides, the forward made his professional debut aged 15, coming on as a 75th-minute substitute for Barcelona B against Cordoba in March 2011.

A call-up to the first-team a month later did not result in an appearance, but on 3 August of that year, Deulofeu did make his debut under Pep Guardiola in a pre-season friendly.

His first goal for the B side came in September 2011 during a 2-1 loss at Hercules. That season he would score nine times in 34 appearances in Segunda A, the Spanish Second Division.

His first two competitive appearances for the main Nou Camp outfit also came during this campaign, as the dominant European giants looked to reward his development.

Part of Spain’s Under-19 side for the successive UEFA Championship wins in 2011 and 2012, Deulofeu was also crowned player of the tournament at the latter event.

An impressive 2012/13 season for Barcelona B saw him plunder 18 goals in 34 appearances, while he also featured in a further four first-team games across all competitions as Barcelona cruised to the La Liga title.

A pacey wideman with trickery and an eye for goal, Deulofeu can operate on either flank or through the middle – versatility he showcased during the Under-20 World Cup.

He scored on his Everton debut in the 2-1 Capital One Cup win over Stevenage and made his first Premier League appearance a few days later.

He went on to net a famous equaliser at Arsenal in a 1-1 draw after coming on as a sub and provided some memorable moments of flair - without really cementing a regular place in the side. His loan spell ended at the conclusion of the 2013/14 season and Deulofeu returned to Barcelona.

But the Spaniard's love affair with Everton was far from over. After taking in a similar temporary spell at La Liga side Sevilla, Deulofeu agreed to return to Goodison Park on permanent deal in the summer of 2015 signing for 3 years.

On 23rd January 2017, it was confirmed that Gerard had joined AC Milan on loan until the end of the season.

On 30th July 2017, FC Barcelona activated their buy-back clause for the Spanish winger and he returned to Spain.
