Gabrielle George - Defender

Everton beat a number of clubs to the signing of talent Gabby George when she agreed to sign senior terms with the Blue Girls ahead of the 2014 FAWSL season.

Previously at Manchester United's Centre of Excellence, the centre-back was immediately added to Andy Spence's first-team squad and made her league debut in April 2014 against Notts County.

George made a further 14 appearances despite being just 17 years of age, including in the FA Women's Cup final against Arsenal.

Under the tutelage of Lindsay Johnson, George continued to flourish and was named the 2015 North West Rising Star. The arrival of Georgia Brougham in 2016 saw the pair become the first-choice central defensive pairing, with the duo as close off the pitch as they are on it.

George was an ever-present during the 2017 Spring Series as the Blue Girls lifted the trophy.

After becoming the first Everton Ladies player to sign professional terms, the young defender continued to remain a fixture in the side as the Blue Girls returned to WSL 1, also being named as vice captain alongside Georgia Brougham.

George earned her maiden call-up to the senior England squad for a January 2018 training camp in La Manga.

She kept her place when former Blues defender Phil Neville took charge of the Lionesses and she travelled to the SheBelieves Cup tournament as part of his first squad.

On 2nd July 2019, Gabrielle extended her contract with Everton Ladies by another 2 years. Then on 29th July 2021, Everton announced that her contract had once again been extended for 3 more years.

Contracted until: June 2024.
