Having graduated through the Club’s Regional Talent Centre, *Elise Hughes made her senior debut in the 1-0 defeat at Arsenal in February 2018, aged just 16.
Hughes went on to make six further league and cup appearances as a substitute for the first team while also featuring for the Development Squad.
Born in Hawarden, Wales, and previously representing her country at Under-16 and Under-17 level, she was called up to the senior Wales squad for the 2018 Cyprus Cup, making her bow in the 0-0 draw with Switzerland.
Predominantly a striker, Hughes has also worked as a defender while on international duty.
On Thursday 15th August 2019, Elise signed a 2 year professional contract with Everton Ladies.
On 4th Jan 2020, Elise joined Bristol City, on loan, until the end of the season. However, during a match against Liverpool, Elise suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury and returned to Everton on 30th January 2020 for treatment.
On 12th September 2020, Everton announced that Hughes had completed a season-long loan move to Blackburn Rovers.
Elise left Everton at the end of her contract and now plays for Charlton Athletic as of August 2021.
