Dominic Calvert-Lewin - Attacker

Everton completed the signing of striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin on transfer deadline day in August 2016.

The striker penned a four-year deal and joined for an undisclosed fee, linking up with David Unsworth’s Under-23s.

Born in Sheffield, Calvert-Lewin came through the ranks at hometown club Sheffield United, making his senior debut in a 1-1 draw at Leyton Orient in April 2015.

The following August, he joined Northampton Town on loan and scored eight goals in 26 appearances for the League Two Cobblers.

Capable of playing as both a striker and in midfield, Calvert-Lewin made two outings for the Blades in 2016/17 before finalising his move to Goodison Park.

Dominic made the first team bench during Everton v West Ham United - Sun 30th October 2016.

On 13th December 2016, Dominic made his Premier League debut, coming on as a substitute as Everton beat Arsenal 2-1.

On 3rd May 2017, Calvin signed a new deal keeping him with the Club until the end of June 2022.

On Sunday 11th June 2017, Dominic scored the winning goal to win the u20 World Cup beating Venezuala 1-0 in the final.

Dominic signed a new deal with Everton on 14th December 2017 keeping him at the club until 2023.

On Tuesday 21st January 2020, he completed his 100th Premier League game, scoring against Newcastle in a 2-2 draw at Goodison Park.

On 6th March 20202, Everton announced that Dominic had signed a new 5 year deal with the club.

"I am in a very privileged position to be Everton’s number nine, I wear it with pride and enjoy it every time I pull on the shirt, said Calvert-Lewin. This is a very proud day. It is emotional, really. I wasn’t born here but I love where I am and the position I am in and I love playing for Everton Football Club."

"The game where I showed people what I was capable of was against Chelsea under Duncan. It was a big game and in big games big players come to the fore. As a striker you are judged on your goals and the shift for me has been getting into areas where I will score more."

"I feel much more at home in the box and in front of goal now."

"I am going on the pitch fully believing I am going to score in every game. I know that won’t always be the case, but that is part the battle, believing in the first place."

"Duncan has been fantastic with me this season.
I have worked closely with him since I stepped up into the first team, a lot of the work I’ve done in the shadows has been with Duncan."

"I would say Duncan was the catalyst for our fortunes changing and I reaped the rewards from the belief he put in me straight away. He was asking my opinion on certain things, which I’d never had before, in regards of how we wanted to play and how I prefer to play." "Probably in that moment, I felt like Everton’s number nine.
I wasn’t ready when I first asked for it [in pre-season ahead of 2018/19]. I am well aware of how much I need to improve and how much better I can do."

"But I like to think I have shown now I am ready… and living up to the expectations of being Everton’s number nine."

On 1st October 2020, Dominic earned his call for the senior England squad, after starting the 2020-21 in fantastic form, including back to back hatricks, making him the first Everton player to do so in a month of competitive play since Dixie Dean in 1931.

At the end of the 2020-21 season, Dominic was awarded both 'Men’s Player of the Season' and 'Everton Players’ Player of the Season'.

Contracted until: June 2025.
