At Everton between 2021 - 2022

On 10th July 2021, Everton announced the signing of Sweden international forward Anna Anvegård, from Rosengård FC.

Highly regarded as one of Europe’s upcoming talents, Anvegård is clinical in front of goal, earning the Damallsvenskan Golden Boot for her efforts during the 2019 and 2020 campaigns.

Internationally, Anvegård helped her nation earn bronze in the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France and scored five goals during Sweden’s Euro 2022 qualifying campaign.

“It feels really amazing,” said Anvegård. “I’ve been talking with Everton for a few months, and it feels amazing that it’s done. I can’t wait to play in the best league in the world and to play for a massive club like Everton. It will be really amazing.”

“The manager spoke to me about the Champions League, how it’s a big goal for the Club to get into the top three,” the Swede added. It’s really exciting to now be on this journey. It’ll be hard but I think we can get up there.”

Everton Women Sporting and Commercial Director, Sarvar Ismailov, said: “We are delighted we were able to sign an international forward with such an impressive record as Anna’s. It’s a huge statement of our ambition. Anna and our other attacking talent will cause a lot of threat up front.”

Manager Willie Kirk spoke of the talent Anvegård possesses and the statement from the Club to win the race to sign the forward.

“Anna is a fantastic signing for Everton, said Kirk. There was a lot of competition to get her signature and it’s a big statement in terms of where we’re going as a club and how we are viewed across Europe by other players. Anna’s got a lot of talent in front of her and she’s developed into a really important player for Sweden. She’ll become a really important player for us".

“She’s flexible in terms of where she can play on the pitch. She can play right across the front line, she can play as our leading nine, in behind as a 10, come off the wide areas and drive in-field into those spaces. Anna is a really exciting prospect and a really exciting signing for Everton.”

On 20th July 2022, Everton announced that Anna had left the club, to sign for Swedish club BK Hacken. Good luck from all at Love Everton Forum.
