On 25th August 2022, Everton announced the signing of forward Agnes Beever-Jones on a season-long loan from Chelsea.

Beever-Jones got her first taste of regular First-Team football on loan with Championship side Bristol City, scoring five goals while operating as a winger, during the 2021-22 campaign.

She joins Everton after representing England at the Under-19s Women’s European Championships, where she scored a brace in the Young Lionesses opening game against Norway.

With an eagerness to learn, the forward says there is no better place to spend the upcoming season than at Everton.

“I’m over the moon to be here,” said Aggie.

“With Brian Sorensen coming in and his history of developing young talent, it just felt like the right place to be. My development is going to be great, and I think the manager has come in with the right mindset and he’s putting that into the team early."

“I’ve had a few chats with him about what his aims are for the season, what my personal aims are, and it all led back to Everton and how great this Club is. It’s a Club with a great history – and the perfect place for me.”

Beever-Jones becomes Everton’s eighth signing of the 2022-23 summer window, following the arrivals of Australia international Clare Wheeler, forward Jess Park, striker Katja Snoeijs, goalkeeper Emily Ramsey, Danes Karen and Sara Holmgaard, and Katrine Veje.

And, with a current blend of promising young talent and experienced internationals, Beever-Jones says she will “absorb” every second of her time with the Toffees in order to grow both as a player and a person.

“I’ve come here and I’m going to be like a sponge and absorb all the information that I can, the positives, the negatives, and see what I can work on,” she said. Young players like Hanna Bennison who scored at the Euros, England internationals like Toni Duggan and Izzy Christiansen. The most I can do is just learn from them to become a better person and player.”

Manager Sorensen considers Beever-Jones as one of England’s rising stars, revealing she was a player he had monitored before joining the Club.

“When I was doing my presentation when applying for the Everton job, Aggie was one of the young English players I highlighted that we could look to bring in,” he explained.

“She’s been in my thoughts from day one and I’m delighted that we could come with an agreement with Chelsea to bring her on loan. She’s been training with a quality Chelsea squad, and she knows the standards that have to be set at that level. I think she will bring positivity to the group and skills wise, she’s a very talented player. It’s a great signing for us and I’m happy to help contribute to her development.”

Agnes returned to her parent club Chelsea at the end of the loan.
