At the moment it would appear we have two goalkeepers who are both very good at filling the role of back up. The question I'd like answered is will either of them ever make a no.1, or will we need to splash the cash to get the finished article?
Stekenburg has made a lot of decent saves this season but has also dropped enough clangers to not be considered as undisputed no.1 at the moment. He's actually only had 2 clean sheets in 16 starts this season, a figure which is nowhere near good enough for our club if we want to start challenging those above us. Is this because he's not good enough or is it a by-product of continually changing personnel in front of him?
Robles on the other hand has two clean sheets from the same amount of starts, his only goal conceded being in the derby after coming on for the injured Stek. Can he keep that going if he's given a run of games in the side?
As an aside Steks last clean sheet was on 12th September against Sunderland, while as a team the last two clean sheets have been while Joel has been between the sticks.
I personally think that long term we'll probably need to sign someone of the stature of Hart or Schmeichel if we're to get back to challenging regularly for honours, but for now would like to see Robles have a run in the side.
Thoughts???

Neither are good enough IMO. I don't think either of them exudes confidence , which at times unsettles the defence in front of them.
Personally I prefer Robles. But a new No1 is a must in the near future.

I think we need a new Keeper.
I've not been impressed with Maarten Stekelenburg in quite a lot of games now, and the fact that Joel Robles blocked our account for trying to have a laugh with him doesn't exactly endear me to him, but I won't let that cloud my judgement of him as a Keeper.
Right now if I had to choose I'd choose Joel, but I'm not super confident in either, as both flap right at the wrong time, after looking good.
