It felt like Everton again last night. It's what the fans have been waiting for for a long time, and rightfully wondering why we weren't getting it, but it nearly went awry, with defenders not clearing the ball, and trying to play it out at a very dangerous time. What made the difference? Well, it could have been the fact that for 3 months fans have been pleading for the manager to give Rom a partner, and finally he took note. I hate it when fans cop out, and say "Ron knows better than you - because he's with the players in training everyday" ............ Well guess what .......... he doesn't! What ever happens in training has no bearing on a real match, and when it comes to facing Premier League opposition, in the field of battle, our fans know our team inside out. They know each player inside out, and they know when a player is playing to his true level or not. Ronald Koeman is still learning about Everton, and might want to take notice of the fans a little more than he does. Koeman has only just arrived in the grand scheme of things so it will take time to get a full understanding of the players so I agree in that respect. We were shite for the first 25 minutes, and only seemed to get going once they scored. That happens sometimes, as they have nothing to lose, but as much as I enjoyed the win it's important not to get carried away and think our problems are solved. Once again our defenders are scoring goals. Koeman has been guilty of relying on the same players, and swapping bad for bad. I think it was more to do with the fact that it was a top 4 side and we had nothing to lose than it being we have turned a corner. We'll see on Monday where we are.
