Everton confident of signing Ademola LookmanEverton are confident of completing the signing of Ademola Lookman from Charlton Athletic, for a fee that could rise to £11million, in the opening weeks of the January transfer window. Ronald Koeman’s side are desperate for a new winger after Yannick Bolasie’s knee ligament injury ruled him out for the rest of the season. Steve Walsh has identified 19-year-old Lookman as the best replacement and Everton have moved to the front of the queue for him. The only remaining sticking point is that Charlton want Lookman loaned back for the second half of the season, while Everton want to bring him straight into their first team group. The two sides are in negotiations and are likely to settle on a fee close to £8m with another £3m in potential add-ons. Lookman’s long-term suitors, Arsenal, Liverpool, Crystal Palace and Celtic are still monitoring the situation but they have not yet made a serious offer to Charlton. Palace bid £6m for Lookman on the final day of the August transfer window but Charlton did not agree to sell him then. This time, Charlton are in turmoil, 11th in League One, and new manager Karl Robinson knows that he has no option but to part ways with the talented teenager Charlton signed at 16. Everton want him signed as close to New Year’s Day as possible. Independant

Everton move for Charlton teenager Ademola Lookman hits stumbling block over terms of £10m deal Everton are keen to sign Charlton's Ademola Lookman in January, however the League One side want Lookman, 19, to be loaned back after deal. The Toffees are refusing to agree to terms following Yannick Bolasie's injury. Everton are reluctant to sanction a deal for Charlton's Ademola Lookman that allows the 19-year-old to return to the League One club on loan. The clubs have been negotiating a transfer which could rise above £10million based on bonus payments but Charlton are insisting Lookman stays with them for the rest of the campaign. Everton director of football Steve Walsh wants the 19-year-old in January to give Ronald Koeman another attacking option with Yannick Bolasie out injured for 12 months. Everton, who confirmed in club accounts that major shareholder Farhad Moshiri has cleared debts of £80m by providing an interest free loan, remain in talks with Manchester United over Morgan Schneiderlin and Memphis Depay though wages are an obstacle. They have also made an offer for AIK forward Alexander Isak though the Swedish club value the exciting 17-year-old at an ambitious £14m. Everton are also among the clubs pursuing Burnley's Michael Keane but a move for CSKA Moscow playmaker Alan Dzagoev now looks unlikely. Daily Mail

It wouldn't be Everton if there wasn't a snag.

It wouldn't be Everton if there wasn't a snag. He's 19, and isn't going to be an instant hit in the first team, so if he's good, and he's worth buying, just lend him back, and next season we'll have a new player. £11m is a lot though.
