Leighton Baines injury latest as Everton sweat on left-backEverton's influential defender has suffered a set-back in training
Leighton Baines remains a doubt for Everton's trip to Burnley after he suffered a setback in his recovery from hamstring problems. The Blues defender had hoped to be fit for the clash against Manchester City at the Etihad stadium on Saturday, but was unable to return after feeling fresh discomfort in his leg last Thursday. It leaves Ronald Koeman facing an anxious wait on his first-choice left-back who could be facing up to another fortnight on the sidelines as he bids to recover completely. The 31-year-old has not featured since the 3-1 win over Middlesbrough in September. He was rested for the ill-fated League Cup clash with Norwich, and then picked up the injury ahead of the equally frustrating trip to Bournemouth. Bryan Oviedo has deputised in Baines' absence with unconvincing results, although the Costa Rica international did turn in an imprived display as City were thwarted at the Etihad. Liv Echo

I think it may be time for him to be phased out. Shouldn't have loaned Galloway & Garbutt both out

Liv Echo Bring Galloway back from 'Loan', but surely we have other players to step in.

We need Bainsey as I don't believe Oviedo is a good enough replacement.
