Everton FC Transfer Rumours: Blues "absolute favourites" to land Italian keeperJuventus number two could leave on a two-year loanAccording to Italian media outlet CalcioMercato, Everton are set to go shopping at Neto in January. The Blues have been described as "absolutely favourite" to land Juventus number two goalkeeper Neto - but only on a convoluted two-year loan! Neto has been pushed for a move during the past few transfer windows, according to CalcioMercato, and Juve are prepared to satisfy his restlessness by allowing him to leave on a two-year loan at a coast of €10m. Juve are only prepared to sanction a loan deal because they expect the 27 year old to replace 38 year old Gianluigi Buffon when the Italian legend retires. Neto joined Juventus from Fiorentina in 2015, but has only made nine appearances for the club. Steven N’Zonzi has been linked with the Blues since his Blackburn days - and is still being reported as a potential target.
Currently playing for Sevilla "Football Insider" claims Everton's interest is so strong that the Spanish club is ready to offer N'Zonzi a new deal to head off Blues interest.
Gareth Barry will be ever so relieved.Liv Echo

Why are we still looking at loan deals when we're supposed to be getting invested in?

Everton were the first club strongly linked with Steven N’Zonzi in the recent transfer circus surrounding the player, which may have a lot to do with Sam Allardyce working with the midfielder at Blackburn Rovers.
But being there first means little, if anything, even if Everton took the chance to steal a march and get ahead of other options.
N’Zonzi making it very publicly clear, when speaking to France Football this week, that he’s looking to leave Sevilla, opened the door to other clubs who may not have fully noticed the situation yet.
Thursday’s L’Equipe states PSG could be one of them. With the panic button firmly pressed after the club lost 2 games in a row, a new combative or defensive midfielder is on the agenda, and that brings N’Zonzi in.
The French newspaper state it was an option looked at as the summer transfer window was closing, and could again be brought to the fore. That would make things very difficult for Everton, with PSG able to provide both status and money.
