Had we not sold Stones, was there money in the kitty to buy players? Not a chance. Anybody who thinks our board would have spent 40 million had we not sold Stones is imagining things. They have been given the tv money and kept it.

Re Stonsey's Comments - I find them highly offensive to our club and ex manager. He shown little respect, and I am rapidly losing respect for him. Apparently Pep is a football genius as he has advised stones to occasionally find Row Z. 30.000 Evertonians were calling for this every week, only to be told to "calm down".
He has criticized Martinez (can't believe I am defending him) for not telling him why he wasn't selected. In a sentence John, it was because you sere a liability and were costing the team points. If, as he says he reviews his performances surely he would have seen this for himself. He loves playing Champions league but has not earned his place by playing in a team that qualified.
On potential, he could be one of the best central defenders we have ever seen, but, likewise, he could wander into obscurity. If/when he makes the same mistakes week in and week out at the Emptyhad, it will not be long before city fans get on his back and he will find himself in the reserves. Maybe, as he thinks Pep is so good, he will be told why.
Re transfer money - I think the money was there and was made available, but the pull of the club is not what we all think. To attract the players we all talk about requires us to be in Europe on a regular basis. I think the squad is stronger now than before the transfer window shut so let Ron do his job, get us in Europe, and then we will see the players wanting to come.

Footballers, they're not the brightest are they? As for money, if we had it, why were we loaning a Striker in the last hour of deadline day? Everybody knew we needed one, but it seems coincidental that we only spent what we sold. Boro loaned Negredo. Stoke signed Bony. Palace signed both Benteke and Remy, so I'm not having it that it's about pulling power. We could have bought a Striker.
