Everton striker Romelu Lukaku will miss Tuesday's third-round EFL Cup match against Norwich City as he deals with a toe injury. Manager Ronald Koeman told reporters Monday that Lukaku will need two days of rest and will be fit for Saturday's match against Bournemouth.

Glad Lukaku's getting a rest in preparation for Saturday. It'll be interesting to see what Valencia is all about.

Koeman has said that Valencia will start against Norwich as Lukaku is not fit. Gibson is out for at least three weeks with a groin injury, possible surgery. I want us to play 2 strikers as opposed to just Lukaku. Koeman classes anybody who plays more up field than Barry as a striker but it would good to have a partnership.

TEAM NEWS
Everton striker Romelu Lukaku will be rested for Tuesday's EFL Cup third-round tie with Championship side Norwich at Goodison Park.
Recent signing Enner Valencia is set to make his first Toffees start in place of the Belgian, who was substituted at the weekend with a toe problem.
Portugal forward Nelson Oliveira, a summer signing from Benfica, could make his Norwich debut.
Midfielder Alex Tettey (hip) is a doubt while winger Matt Jarvis (knee) is out.
Match stats
Everton and Norwich met in round four of the League Cup last season. The Toffees progressed 4-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw at Goodison Park. Everton have won their last five League Cup matches against lower league opponents, scoring 15 goals in the process, an average of three goals per match. Meanwhile, Norwich have lost their last five meetings against Premier League opponents (while playing in the Football League), most recently in August 2010, a 3-1 defeat to Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park. Everton have lost just one of their last 15 matches against Norwich in all competitions, winning seven and drawing seven. Norwich have not beaten Everton at Goodison Park since September 1993, when the Canaries won 5-1.
