Everton are planning a summer upgrade to the exterior of Goodison Park. The proposals include adding cladding to the corners of the stadium and featuring imagery on large banners on three sides of the ground. New exterior lighting is also being planned for the start of the 2016/17 season. The Club held a consultation event with local residents on Thursday evening ahead of a formal planning application to Liverpool City Council. As part of the submission, the Club is also looking to secure approval for the Holy Trinity statue which, if approved, is expected to be installed during the 2016/17 season. The Club will continue to work closely with the Fans’ Forum on the design work for the exterior refurbishment project, while interior branding work on Goodison’s concourses will also continue after a successful first phase of the project was completed in 2015.

Plans for a refurbishment of Goodison Park have been submitted to Liverpool City Council. The rebranding project for the exterior and interior of the stadium is scheduled to take place over the summer and involves new cladding and light displays installed on the stadium. The plans have been submitted to Liverpool City Council by Condy Lofthouse Architects, with visual representations to illustrate how the ground could look following the completion of the works. The images show cladding to both ends of the Main Stand and a new cladded tower construction at the Bullens Road side of the Park Stand. The images submitted also show a banner system that will ‘wrap around’ the Main Stand, Gwladys Street and Bullens Road Stand. Designs for this wrap are still being worked on and the visuals submitted in the planning document for this part of the project are for illustrative purposes only. There are also plans for some new signage at the Park Stand. Much of the work is scheduled to be completed by the start of the season and the project forms part of a major ground refurbishment scheme, including some rebranding on internal concourses which is being driven by the Club’s Fans’ Forum. Planning has also been submitted for a Holy Trinity statue as part of the project.

Looks nice but would rather have a new stadium. Has that been done already or is it just an artists impression?

Looks nice but would rather have a new stadium. I agree, I would prefer to see a new stadium built. Not keen on the above, it looks like they are just adding extra bits here and there
