Everton will confirm squad numbers for the 2016/17 season on 1 August. With pre-season just three weeks old, changes to the make-up of the squad - and subsequently the players’ numbers - are expected. Any numbered kit worn by players in training or pre-season matches shouldn’t necessarily be taken as confirmation of their squad number for the 2016/17 Premier League season. Fans at Everton One and Everton Two have the option of purchasing name and number printing right now, and can return to have their shirt printed at any point this season, with the name and number of their choice. New signing Idrissa Gueye will wear the number 17 shirt for Everton. The first-team squad numbers for the 2016/17 season have been confirmed by the Club today, coinciding with the signing of the Senegal international from Aston Villa. Notable changes see Gerard Deulofeu become the Blues’ new number 7, while Ross Barkley takes the number 8 shirt. Gueye, who has signed a deal until 2020, takes the number most recently worn by Mo Besic, who has moved to number 21. Bryan Oviedo moves to 20 while Maarten Stekelenburg, who arrived earlier this summer from Fulham, will wear 22. Shani Tarashaj takes the 24 jersey. Young Blues Tom Davies and Kieran Dowell move to 26 and 28 respectively. The full first-team squad list for the forthcoming season is below. 1. Joel Robles 2. 3. Leighton Baines 4. Darron Gibson 5. John Stones 6. Phil Jagielka 7. Gerard Deulofeu 8. Ross Barkley 9. Arouna Kone 10. Romelu Lukaku 11. Kevin Mirallas 12. Aaron Lennon 13. 14. 15. Tom Cleverley 16. James McCarthy 17. Idrissa Gueye 18. Niasse, McGeady and Garbutt's Everton futures in doubt as new squad numbers revealedTrio overlooked in new squad line-up as Ross Barkley and Gerard Deulofeu elevated into first XIRonald Koeman has dropped a major hint regarding his Everton intentions with the release of the coming season's squad numbers. And £13.5million man Oumar Niasse has been given the clearest indication yet he has no future at the club under the Dutchman. The 26-year-old, who only arrived at Goodison in January, is one of several players to be stripped of their shirt. Aiden McGeady, Luke Garbutt, Conor McAleny and Leandro Rodriguez have also not been given a squad number. Niasse became the third most expensive player in Everton's history when he arrived from Lokomotiv Moscow in the New Year, only to underwhelm spectacularly by scoring precisely no goals in seven disappointing appearances. McGeady and Rodriguez were both brought to Goodison by Roberto Martinez but have failed to make sufficient impact, while Garbutt appears to have paid the price for the surfeit of left-back's in Everton's squad. How Everton new man Steve Walsh influenced signing of Idrissa Gueye Intriguingly, a number of number changes have pointed towards who Koeman perhaps hopes will feature regularly in the first team during the imminent campaign. Ross Barkley will switch his number 20 shirt with the number 8 of Bryan Oviedo, while Gerard Deulofeu takes the number 7 shirt vacated by McGeady. Meanwhile, new signing Idrissa Gueye takes on the number 17 shirt formerly the possession of Mo Besic, who had previously revealed he will wear 21 next season. New goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg will wear the number 22 jersey. Young duo Tom Davies and Kieran Dowell have been elevated to number 26 and number 28 respectively. Liv Echo

I couldn't give a toss about the others but I liked Luke, and hope it's just a case of him going out on loan.
