According to the Daily Mail, Marcos Rojo is angry at missing out on a move to Everton. Everton convinced Rojo to make the move to Goodison Park, and he was fully prepared to make the last minute transfer. However, United would not let the £16 million centre-back (BBC Sport) leave on loan, and Everton could not agree a price for a permanent deal. I'm glad we didn't buy him. You have to ask why we didn't get a defender in though.

Everton and Manchester United are both reported to have missed out on a deal for Spanish under-21 star Dani Olmo this summer.
As reported by Sportske Novosti, Dinamo Zagreb rejected several bids from the UK for the player.
Manchester United bid €25 million (£23m) for the player whilst Everton’s rejected bid reportedly stood at €28 million (£26.3m).
Everton were certainly tentatively mentioned as a potential location for the former Barcelona talent throughout the summer. However, this report seems to confirm an approach was actually made.

Everton expect academy product Fraser Hornby to secure a loan deal with Belgian Jupiler Pro League side KV Kortrijk by the end of the week, according to Football Insider.
The Blues have fielded a number of calls from English Football League and Scottish sides registering their interest in the 6 ft 3 striker this month, after awarding Hornby the green light to secure a temporary transfer as Marco Silva is unlikely to offer a great first-team role to the Under 23s star this season.
Kortrijk have leapt to the front of the queue, though, and the Northampton-born ace is understood to have already packed his bags and flown out to Belgium to hold discussions with the Guldensporen Stadion natives.
Everton are understood to be hopeful that Hornby’s potential season in the Belgian top-flight will return valuable first-team experience that would not be on offer on Merseyside, with De Kerels currently 6th in the Jupiler Pro League on seven points after the opening four games of the term.

According to Football Insider, Everton midfielder Beni Baningime is in talks to join Danish side Brondby. The Merseysiders’ manager Marco Silva has given the green light for Baningime, 20, to leave Goodison Park before the window shuts this month. They go on to say Brondby have leapfrogged a number of rival clubs to climb into pole position to secure the rising star’s signature in what is expected to be a loan deal. Silva is happy to loan out the defensive midfielder in order for him to get regular senior game time and develop his game. Baningime had a spell out on loan at Championship outfit Wigan Athletic during the second half of last season, but he made only one appearance during his time there. The DR Congo-born player has made 12 first-team appearances for the Toffees having progressed through the academy ranks of the club. Everton signed three senior central midfielders this summer for major fees, including Andre Gomes, Jean-Philippe Gbamin and Fabian Delph. The arrivals of the big-name trio have pushed Baningime further down the pecking order at Goodison.
