Everton chase Milan forward M’Baye Niang• Several clubs chasing Frenchman, whom Leicester targeted in January • City also interested in loan move for Juventus midfielder Mario Lemina Leicester City, Everton and West Ham United are among several Premier League clubs weighing up an official offer for the Milan forward M’Baye Niang. The Frenchman, 21, was the subject of a €16m bid from Claudio Ranieri’s Leicester in January but that was rejected by Milan. However, with the president, Silvio Berlusconi, still in negotiations with a Chinese group of investors over the sale of the club, the forward who scored five goals in 15 Serie A starts is expected to be allowed to leave for slightly less than that figure after expressing a desire to move to England. Leicester consider Niang as a cheaper alternative to CSKA Moscow’s Nigerian forward Ahmed Musa, who is valued at around £25m. Everton are also in the frame as Ronald Koeman seeks to make his first signing since arriving from Southampton with West Ham also keen, although it is understood bids have yet to be submitted. Niang, who started his career at the French side Caen, turned down interest from Tottenham and Arsenal before moving to Italy in August 2012. He has since been loaned out to both Genoa and Montpellier but returned to San Siro last summer. He was heavily criticised earlier this month after uploading a video of himself jumping from the roof of his house into a swimming pool. Leicester have also expressed an interest in taking the Gabon midfielder Mario Lemina on loan from Juventus. The Italian champions took up their option to buy the 22-year-old for €9.5m from Marseille in April after he had spent the season on loan but could allow him to leave to gain experience. With N’Golo Kanté expected to attract bids in the coming weeks, the Premier League champions have made reinforcing central midfield a priority and are likely to make an improved offer of £9.5m for Nice’s Nampalys Mendy, who played under Ranieri at Monaco.
