Watford appoint Walter Mazzarri as new managerWatford have announced the appointment of Walter Mazzarri as their new head coach on a three-year contract. Italian managers in the Premier League - ranked and rated The 54-year-old replaces Quique Sánchez Flores at Vicarage Road to become Watford's eighth manager in the last four years. Italian Mazzarri arrives with plenty of coaching experience having managed Sampdoria, Napoli and Inter Milan amongst others in his home country. It is understood Mazzarri moved to Manchester to learn English last year and has previously held talks with both Swansea City and Sunderland. Mazzarri is already well known to at least one member of Watford’s squad, as defender Miguel Britos played under him at Napoli. Under Mazzarri, Napoli won the Copa Italia and finished runners up in Serie A, with players such as Edinson Cavani and Ezequiel Lavezzi at his disposal. He then went to Inter Milan, but was sacked in 2014 and replaced by Roberto Mancini.

Watford do like their Italians don't they They're Italian mad. They had Zola then later Sannino too. Their owner is Italian.

Watford says manager Walter Mazzarri will leave the club at the end of the Premier League season after one year in charge. Watford made the announcement Wednesday following a meeting with the Italian coach to discuss the club's future. Mazzarri had two years left on his contract
