Jimmy Mac gets player of the month

James McCarthy has been named Everton's player of the month for November.



The midfielder collected his award at Liverpool's Hilton Hotel on Wednesday afternoon.



He picked up the accolade, which was awarded following Everton's undefeated sequence of November fixtures, from Mark Wynnne of Formby Motor Company.



He also received a designer watch from Matt Case of Russell and Case jewellers.



McCarthy was ever-present as the Toffees drew with Crystal Palace and Spurs before taking part in one of the most memorable Merseyside derbies in recent times.



Indeed, it was the young Irish international who was close to snatching a Blues winner with the very last kick of the game.

He then helped his side smash Stoke 4-0 in the month's final outing.



McCarthy told evertontv: "It is brilliant to be the player of the month. I am delighted to pick up an award at such a great club.



"I have really enjoyed my first few months. We are getting results and doing well as a team. The boys have helped me settle in quickly with the great team spirit and I am really enjoying life.



"The supporters have been brilliant since day one. They have really made me feel welcome and you can hear them when you are on the pitch no mtter where you go. It's a great, great cub with great, great supporters."
